via THEURBANDAILY.com – How are they going to do Maurice White like that?! The creator of the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire is being sued for failing to pay a producer for work done on some of Earth, Wind & Fire’s biggest hits. The thing about this lawsuit is the person who would receive the settlement died 36 years ago. Charles Stepneycollaborated with EW&F from 1974 until his death in 1976. During that time, Stepney helped create hits like“Sing A Song” and “Shining Star.”

TMZ reports Stepney’s children filed a suit claiming they discovered their father was never paid for any of his work with the funk band. The Stepney family believes Maurice White and Sony Music Holdings, Inc. should hand over a huge amount of money to compensate for their father never getting paid. If The Stepneys win the lawsuit, they are set to receive royalties dating all the way back to 1974. Maurice White or any member of Earth, Wind & Fire have yet to comment on the matter.
