This is such a good deed shown to another human being! So you have Rutgers former defensive tackle Eric Legrand who was tragically paralyzed after colliding with another player in 2010. Legrand played football under the direction of former Rutgers coach now NFL’s Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano.
After the hit, LeGrand was told that he would be a quadriplegic and would need a respirator to breathe, but after five weeks he was breathing on his own.
Schiano offered the symbolic deal to his LeGrand by phone on Tuesday:
This small gesture is the least we could do to recognize his character, spirit, and perseverance. The way Eric lives his life epitomizes what we are looking for in Buccaneer Men, Schiano said in a Buccaneers news release Wednesday.
