According to published reports, a woman died in an early morning fire Thursday. The fire happened at a house on Sagetree and Kirkholm around 1:00 A.M.
Upon the arrival of firefighters, the one story home was already engulfed in flames. Once they were able to enter the home, the victim a 69-year-old woman was unable to escape the fire. Additional reports indicate that neighbors say they heard an explosion and came outside to see flames engulfing the home.
Firefighters were informed of oxygen bottles the victim had in her home. The 38-year-old man who was inside the home at the time of the fire reportedly managed to escape safely. The fire victim had not been identified at the time of this report. Arson investigators were also on the scene to help determine the cause of the fire.
