Truck Accident Closes Northbound Southwest Freeway

Friday morning, a Tanker truck flipped over going Inbound/Northbound on 59/ Southwest Fwy at the 288 /45 Gulf Fwy split. Based upon my view of cameras and reports, traffic was a nightmare for motorists. The accident was reported about 9 a.m. It’s not known whether there are any injuries.

If you have to get to downtown, take Richmond or Westheimer in. AVOID the Southwest Fwy going up 59 to town for at least an hour or more. This accident is also affecting Inbound traffic up 288 coming into town as well. There is no word on when the lanes will reopen.
