Flash flood warnings and watches were in effect again Thursday as more rain moved into the Houston and surrounding areas.

Multiple lightning strikes and street flooding were reported just before 7:00 a.m. in Houston as well as areas northwest of Houston.

According to CenterPoint Energy, least 10,000 customers were without power Thursday morning. Heavy rain and storms continued their move across the southeast and closer to the heart of Houston in the early morning hours of Thursday.

Weather forecasters predicted that additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches were possible in the warned areas. Motorists were urged to be safe and “turn around don’t drown.”
