An alert Precinct 6 deputy investigating an abandoned vehicle stumbles upon a marijuana grow house just outside downtown Houston. One deputy checked to see if the vehicle near the intersection of Lamar and Palmer had possibly seen stolen and abandoned. While he was taking a look, he smelled marijuana.

Hours later armed with a search warrant, law enforcement made their way in and found at least 100 marijuana plants, some up to five feet tall. Lt. Julio Banda with Pct. 6 told News 92 FM that there were also plants that were already harvested and stored in a refrigerator.

One person inside the warehouse was arrested. Charges against him are pending. Lt. Banda does believe that man had been living there because there was clothing, food, even a washer and dryer inside.

Deputies found several light fixtures, fans and large storage containers inside the warehouse. Lt. Banda also tells News 92 FM that it does appear the growers bypassed the plumbing and electric meter to avoid detection on how much power and water they were using.
