Tomb of Unknown Guardsmen Will Not Leave Post During Manditory Hurricane Evacuation

The Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment’s Tomb Sentinels will not leave their post at Arlington, VA’s Tomb of the Unknowns during the Hurricane Sandy evacuation.
“The Old Guard” have watched over the Tomb for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for nearly 65 years.
This Hurricane is projected to make its way up the Eastern seaboard beginning tonight, where the tombs men will protect the tomb throughout the duration of the inclement weather.
