Very powerful closing arguments were delivered by both the prosecution and defense attorneys in the George Zimmerman murder trial.

In rebutting the defense closing arguments, assistant state attorney John Guy said it was Trayvon Martin who was in fear.

“Isn’t that every child’s worst nightmare? To followed on the way home in the dark by a stranger?”

Earlier today, Zimmerman’s attorney argued that Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense and that prosecutors failed to prove otherwise.

O’mara says 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was planning an attack on Zimmerman, instead of going back to the townhome where he was staying.

“I want you to really, really look at those instructions and apply them. And just say he acted in self-defense, find him not guilty let him go back and get back to his life.”

A jury of six women could begin deliberations as early as this afternoon, and they’ll have to decide whether Zimmermann was a “wannabe cop” or someone who shot the unarmed black teenager in self-defense.
