In the words of Marvin Gaye, “What’s going on?” The light shining on police brutality and the use of excessive force has been burning bright as of late. A pregnant woman in Rochester, NY was allegedly forced to the ground and punched in the head. A fourteen year old boy from Pennsylvania, accused of stealing from Walmart was tazed in the face while handcuffed, causing him to fall face first and break his nose. State Troopers in Oklahoma City allegedly severely beat a deaf man, and recently in Moore, Oklahoma, police allegedly beat a man to death in front of his wife and daughter. In all of the above arrests, the perpetrators were said to have resisted arrest but none were violent crimes.
