(HOUSTON) — A 76-year-old Galveston County man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl.
Thomas Joseph Perthuis is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. His wife runs a home-based, after-school child care service in Santa Fe. The victim was in his wife’s care when it happened.
Authorities were informed when the victim’s mother and a school counselor learned what had happened from the girl. Capt. Barry Cook is with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office:

The investigation was delayed when Perthuis checked himself into a mental health facility. He was charged Monday.
Cook says there could be more victims.
