According to Essence, Toni Braxton is set to star in an original biopic on OWN about the life of actress and singer Darlene Love.
The film is called My Name Is Love: The Darlene Love Story. The film will be executive produced by Oprah and Academy Award winning filmmaker Morgan Nellville. Darlene will also serve as an executive producer for the film.
The film will tell the story of Love’s decade’s long career as a solo artist and a background singer for Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin and Bruce Springsteen.
My Name Is Love: The Darlene Love Story will premiere in December. This will be OWN’s first scripted film.
