Apparently, this is what happened to a couple in New York. Louis J. Billittier said he was being sarcastic when he told his now former fiancee’, Christa M. Clark that she could keep her $53,000, white gold. 2.97 carat engagement ring as a parting gift. Billitier threatened to take the ring back and filed a lawsuit after he learned that she was still in contact with his family. The judge ruled in Clark’s favor and she got to keep the ring.
