Galveston Chief of Police Henry Porretto stated, “Public order offenses, such as prostitution, are the root causes of many other types of crime. Proactively targeting these core issues helps curb more serious offenses before their onset and assures that our island remains a family friendly environment for both out citizens and our guests.”

This sting utilized an undercover officer to solicit mostly known offenders to commit sexual acts for some type of payment.

In the state of Texas the actual offense of prostitution occurs when an agreement is made for the exchange of a sexual act for some type of remuneration; most often this remuneration is in the form of money or narcotics.
