(HOUSTON) – The Houston Zoo is celebrating the birth of a cute and towering bundle of joy.

A healthy female Masai giraffe was delivered shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday at the McGovern Giraffe Habitat in the African Forest, the conclusion of mother Neema’s 14-month pregnancy.

John Register, hoofed stock supervisor at Houston Zoo, said the baby giraffe was standing on her own and nursing shortly after birth.

She tips the scales at 132 lbs., and stands 6 feet tall, Register said.

The zoo now boasts 10 Masai giraffes with the addition of baby, who will be named by the keepers who cared for Neema during her pregnancy.
