Homicide scene in NW Harris County (Metro Video)

(HOUSTON) — An apparent case of road rage ended in bloodshed Tuesday night in a northwest Harris County neighborhood.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home on Valarno, near Greens Road and Veterans Memorial. Outside the home, they found a 38-year-old Hispanic man dead in his car.

The Latest News Headlines, Traffic and Weather:

The resident of the home, a 25-year-old black man, told officers that he and the dead man had an argument earlier while driving their respective vehicles.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies said it appears the victim followed the shooter to his home.

The 25-year-old told deputies he got into his driveway and got out of his car, and the other driver tried to run over him. That’s when, according to deputies, he fired several shots at his perceived assailant.

Deputies said the shooter is cooperating with investigators.
