Northwestern University researchers found that choosing the right friends causes our brainwaves to sync with theirs. That means you’ll start picking up the desirable behaviors and perspectives of those closest to you without being conscious of it. Professor Moran Cerf explains, “[…] the people you hang out with actually have an impact on your engagement with reality beyond what you can explain. And one of the effects is you become alike.”
