PEARLAND, Texas—Two people were killed in a six-vehicle crash in Pearland Wednesday morning.
It happened in the 18700 block of State Highway 35 near Hastings around 6:30 a.m.
Lt. Onesimo Lopez of the Pearland Police Department said the crash occurred when a late-model Chevy pickup drifted into oncoming northbound traffic.
The truck collided with several northbound vehicles. One of those collisions was head-on.
The pickup burst into flames and careened into a ditch along the side of the road.
Lopez said the pickup driver was trapped in the fire and died at the scene.
In all, six vehicles were involved in the pile-up.
