A man shot and killed his ex-wife, then turned the gun on himself in southwest Houston late Sunday, according to police.
Police said 41-year-old Lisa Williams and her family members had returned home to the 16100 block of Bantam Ridge Court shortly before 10 p.m.
Her former husband, 43-year-old Rykan Jones, arrived and the two began to argue.
That’s when Jones pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said. Witnesses said Jones shot Williams multiple times in the back, before turning the gun on himself.
Police arrived to find Jones lying dead, with Williams clinging to life beside him. She was rushed to Ben Taub hospital, where she later died.
The two had one child together, and Jones had another child from a previous relationship.
