George Lopez and his wife have decided to part ways.
“George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17-year marriage,” a rep for the Lopez Tonight host tells PEOPLE. “The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement.”
The couple wed in 1993. They have one child together, Mayan Lopez.
“They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation,”the rep says.
In 2005, Ann famously donated her kidney to her husband. Crediting her for giving him life, George, 49, told PEOPLE, “I can’t pay her back, but what I can do is make her as happy as she thought I would when we first got married.”
