According to TMZ, the Los Angeles County District Attorney has rejected the drug case from T.I.’s September 1st arrest:

Sources from the D.A.’s Office claim that they are not going forward with charges because, in essence, he’s already been sentenced to prison since the arrest was a violation of his federal probation.

However, law enforcement sources tell TMZ there were significant legal issues over probable cause which led to T.I.’s arrest.

Cops claimed they smelled marijuana, but no pot was ever booked into evidence. And, we’re told …T.I. was pulled out of his $250,000 Maybach immediately, after he made the illegal U-turn and prior to any registration check.

It looks as if T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., finally received some mercy. T.I. will still be reporting to jail on November 1, but at least he does not have to face additional charges and possible jail time from the arrest in California.

In September, T.I. and his wife, Tameka Cottle, were driving along Sunset their Maybach at around 10:30 p.m., when police pulled them over. When officers searched the vehicle, after the smell of marijuana permeated the air, they arrested the couple. Deputies found four ecstasy pills on the Grammy-award winner during the arrest, according to reports. The duo was booked on felony possession of a controlled substance charge.

T.I. was on supervised release after serving 10 months in prison for federal weapons charges when he was arrested in California. As a condition of his release, T.I. was ordered not to commit another crime or illegally possess a controlled substance. Because of the arrest, T.I. was sentenced to another 11 months in prison earlier this month.
