This morning, former American Idol contestant Jacob Lusk called into the Tom Joyner Morning Show to discuss his elimination plus exactly where his style of singing fits into the industry. He also examines the state of R&B and how many legendary voices are missing.

Jacob says he’s excited about his future, despite negative comments he received from mentor/Interscope Records chairman Jimmy Iovine toward the end of his tenure on the show. Looks like this is only the beginning for the talented performer.

The smooth sounding young vocalist even gave the TJMS crew a sample of his powerful falsetto notes live on the air reminiscent of the days when real singing was the standard in the industry. Check out the interview below and let us know what you think below on the message board.
