Cedric The Entertainer has long been a household name in the black community, stemming from his memorable TV roles, his stint as one of the “Original Kings of Comedy,” his starring turns in movies like “Barbershop” and the remake of “The Honeymooners,” and of course, his hysterical stand-up routines. These days, you can catch him in more than one place.

He’s hosting the new family-friendly game show “It’s Worth What?” which makes contestants guess not just the price of something, but it’s actual value. Yes, the winning contestant does get $1 million, but the idea is to recognize that there are things whose real worth is not so obvious. Think of it as a cross between “Antiques Roadshow” and “The Price is Right.” You can catch the show on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

You can also catch Cedirc the Entertainer in person, if you’re fortunate enough to live in the Chicago area. He heads into the Windy City on Saturday, Oct. 15th to perform his standup at the Arie Crowne Theater. He’ll be bringing a few friends along, so be prepared to laugh as hard as you can.
