She may be blind but her vision is one of the most clear and poignant ever seen. Christine Ha, a blind graduate student at the University of Houston, has been crowned winner of Fox’s popular reality cooking show “MasterChef”. Ha won season three of the reality show.

Ha who beat out Josh Marks, a U.S. Army contract specialist from of Jackson, Mississippi will receive a $250,000 check, a cookbook deal and a shiney trophy for her efforts.

The finale challenge for the culinary creators features creating three courses in two hours. Ha’s challenger Marks displayed his creation of a butter-poached lobster with sweet corn grits, rack of lamb with curry spice and spring vegetables and bacon pecan pie.

Ha’s edible masterpiece was Thai Papaya and Crab Salad, braised pork belly with kale and a fried egg and coconut sorbet with a ginger tuile. Ha described her meal as a “symphony of flavors.” The ever brash and brazen Gordon Ramsay stood at the helm of the contest.
