Dear Tom,

Nadina Flowers is a graduate of Southern University’s class of 1978. Everybody there calls her Mrs. Flowers. She has been there ever since her own daughter attended kindergarten…and This spring, her little girl will be graduating from Southern University…then in the fall, it’s her 18-year-old son’s turn to attend Southern.

Mrs. Flowers is always there to listen when you need someone to talk to. She makes everyone at the school feel like they are part of a big family. She works so hard and gives her all and then some. I often wonder how she does everything that she does.

There are over 400 kids grades K through 12 and she is involved in every aspect of their lives. She is a mother figure for the children when they are away from home, and she has no problem putting them in line – no matter how old they are or what grade they are in.

I think she is Thursday Morning Mom material because everyone loves and respects her. I just want her to know that her good deeds and hard work do not go unnoticed or unappreciated and that I am thankful for her.

She has a nice backyard with a patio in the courtyard. Mrs. Flowers once told me that one of these days, she would have a covering for her patio built so she can spend more time outside when the weather is nice.

I think that would be a wonderful way to recognize her for being a Thursday Morning Mom to so many children all these years.

Signed,

Destinique
