Ne-Yo is making his feelings known about lip-synching singers, including Beyonce and Britney Spears, saying they need to “learn how to entertain–or get off the stage.” The comments were reported in Australia’s The Telegraph newspaper.

He pits BeyBey in a class of artists who are essentially lazy in their craft:

“If you don’t do sing so well, or dance so well, and you need a bunch of pyro, smoke and mirrors to cover up that fact, I have an issue, because I’ll feel like I haven’t got my money’s worth.”

The 33-year-old singer also told The Telegraph he was in a bind after Michael Jackson committed to recording six of his songs. He died before he was able to visit the material. Ne-Yo says he cannot sell the music or record it without being accused of profiting off the King of Pop’s death.

Ne-Yo will perform with T.I. and 50 Cent in Australia at the end of the month.
