Websites are reporting that a winning ticket sold at a Katy-area convenience store is the grand prize winner in Friday’s $144 million Mega Millions drawing.

A Texas Lottery Commission statement issued Monday says the ticket was sold at a Short Stop market in Katy. According to the statement, that makes the store eligible for a $1 million retailer bonus.

Commission Deputy Executive Director Gary Grief says the commission is still waiting for the ticket holder to come forward and claim the jackpot.
