Two Oklahoma men are considering legal action against Houston Police for what they call racial profiling.
Houston Police became suspicious after finding a 13-year-old girl sleeping in a vehicle near Memorial Park with two black men, ages 29 and 22. This despite the fact that the girl was with exactly the two men her parents wanted her to be with.
Landry Thompson came to Houston from Tulsa with her dance partner, Josiah Kelly, and their dance instructor, Emmanuel Hurd. They took a snooze inside their vehicle early Sunday morning following a long day of rehearsals. The three were handcuffed, and Landry was taken into CPS custody.
All three were eventually released. Houston Police says officers acted out of an abundance of caution given the age difference and the fact that Landry had no relatives in the area.
