It is refreshing to see a young man in the news being productive and showing entrepreneurial promise. 16 year old Chase “Sneakers” Reed of New York, with the help of his father, has turned his passion for high end sneakers into a business opportunity. He opened the World’s first sneaker pawnshop. The 10th grader started the business using his own stock of mint condition shoes. His store carries the hottest and freshest lightly worn shoes such as a pair of LeBron Crown Jewels at $1400 and a pair of Nike Air Yeezy’s that have sold on Ebay for up to $15,000! There is no amount of money in the world that I could have that would make it okay for me to spend $15,000 on a pair of sneakers. But, I digress because I think this young man is onto something and I would rather see him legally hocking shoes than illegally hocking something else.
