Dear Tom,

When my late father had to go to dialysis, my mother, Novelene Burns, transported him. When he lost his left limb, she was there to support him through his recovery. When my late grandmother had a stroke, my mother moved her in her home and cared for her all while working a fulltime job. Upon the birth of my first child, my mother held one leg and my ex-husband had the other.Arriving only minutes before the birth of my second child, my mother was there ready for a repeat performance.

When my brother’s pregnant girlfriend was ordered to bed-rest and could no longer work, my mother took her in. Shortly after the birth of her fourth grandchild, she retired only to then become a babysitter. So when I divorced my husband of 19 nineteen years, where else would I go? You got it, my mother’s house!!

Novelene Burns is the epitome of a loving, nurturing, and caring person. She thrives off providing service to others: baking sweet potato pies, donating items & money to charity, hosting family traveling through Maryland, etc. If you need her, she is always there to provide support to you in any way she can. That is why I’m petitioning that you grant my mother, Thursday Morning Mom. Tom my mother loves to garden, however the arthritis in her back has limited her ability.

My wish for my mom would be to have a professional landscaper come out and beautify her front and back yards. This would be the ultimate act of service for my mother which she truly deserves.
