Tika Sumpter has had a banner year. Last year we met her as Candice on OWN and Tyler Perry’s Haves and Have Nots and since then, well she’s been all over the small and big screens.

In January we saw her alongside Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in the highly successful Ride Along and now her new movie My Man Is A Loser starring John Stamos was released on iTunes last week. Not to mention she has a part in the much anticipated James Brown biopic, Get On Up.

But it’s all about the Haves and Have Nots this go round. The intense season finale airs tonight and is sure to answer some questions the fans have been waiting for all season long. But will she get killed off? Some think so.

“I don’t want to be killed. I don’t want my Candice to be killed,” Sumpter says.

So what’s in store for tonight’s big show?

“There’ll be some drama tonight for the season finale. Some story lines may get wrapped up and some you’ll have to wait till next season,” she says.

The New York native continues to stay busy with two new films in the works.

“I’m doing one now for HBO and then Ride Along 2 and then I start Haves and Have Nots again…maybe,” she reveals.

As for Get on Up, opening this Friday, she says her appearance in it is briefer than expected.

“Some of my stuff got cut out, which is totally fine. I’m just glad to be a part of such a great movie. I would never take back being on set with [director] Tate Taylor and Nelsan Ellis and Chadwick Boseman is awesome in it. I’m excited for you guys to see it. It’s a different side of James Brown.”
