According to frisky.com, almost 1 in 2 people in the United States will suffer from depression or some mental health condition at some point in their lives and 1 and 17 Americans suffer from mental illness right now. I’m not sure how accurate these statistics are but if you look closely, we can all relate to some sort of situational or clinical depression whether directly or indirectly.

How to console or help a person with depression is not an easy task. With the best intentions in mind, it’s always hard to know exactly what to say to try and make someone feel better. A good suggestion is to just listen. A person with depression is most likely helped by having a supportive ear and being able to talk about their feelings even if you don’t understand them.
