Hey this is Uncle Funky Larry Jones checking in and as many of you know baseball is one of my favorite sports. It doesn’t matter if it’s little league, college or even the MLB game I’ll be there to watch it. I found this heartbreaking story about this little league team who had their championship stripped for violating residency rules. According to NYDailyNews.com ,Jackie Robinson West, a little league team from Chicago had violated residency rules by getting players outside of the district to play for their team.
The Little League International president and CEO, said in a statement “As painful as it is, we feel it is a necessary decision to maintain the integrity of the Little League program. No team can be allowed to attempt to strengthen its team by putting players on their roster that live outside their boundaries.”
