Dear Tom,
At this point in my life, I want to give up. My husband and i are going through a bankruptcy and getting ready to lose the only home we own and family land. We had to move from Lake County to Miami Dade because my husband found a better job. But with 3 sons to support, one income is not working out.
I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in education K-6 “Magna Cum Laude”, but I can’t get a teaching position because I have to complete my general knowledge, subject area and I professional exams to teach here in Miami-Dade. In order to just substitute teach i must complete the general knowledge exam. However, I can’t afford any tests at this time.
Tom, I tutor weekly and that money helps with food, my children’s lunch, physical therapy for my back and gas. I really can’t wait to get back into the classroom, but i feel as if I have hit a brick wall. I am trying my hardest not to break down.
To make matters worse our car died yesterday and we now have a car payment at a high interest rate that we were not expecting.
I’m asking for a Christmas wish to see if you can cover the certification exams needed to secure a teaching position. I know things will get better. We are a family that believes in hard work and dedication. But at this point, we need a little help. Thank you so much for listening!!!
