Estelle appeared on the show as Delphine. She says she wanted to be on the show and after putting it into the universe, she got an unexpected call from the show. Her duet with Jussie is one of the show’s highlights, but there were a bunch of others for its stars.

‘There were a lot of [favorite] scenes but as for an episode, I’ve have to say the season finale,’ says Smollett.  “[As for scenes] I’d have to say the scene in the elevator with the brothers.”

Yazz agrees. “It was a take where he was really in our face. He was spitting in our face. We were on camera I was on camera like ‘Man, stop spitting in my face.’ He was sweating and spitting. Trai didn’t talk to us all day. So we was a little nervous in there.”

“Big ol’ yellow Incredible Hulks is gonna snap on us,’ jokes Smollett. “We gon’ die today!”

The guys head back to work this summer, potentially for a return in the fall. But don’t ask about what’s next – Smollett and Gray ain’t gonna tell you.

“We love our jobs,” says Smollett. “I just tore up my unemployment card and I don’t want to wait the six weeks until I can get it back.”
