Congratulations!

Grammy Award® Nominee Tamela Mann’s album ‘Best Days’ (CD/ Deluxe Edition) is certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for the achievement of selling more than 500,000 copies.

Tillymann Music Group label head and Tamela’s manager and husband, David Mann, presented Tamela with her RIAA Certified Gold plaque at a pre-screening of Bounce TV’s ‘Mann & Wife’ during the Stellar Awards weekend in Las Vegas. A presentation was also made to Tillymann Music Group distribution partner Central South Distribution.

“God continues to bless me, my family and my music in 2015,” said Tamela.

“Learning ‘Best Days’ went Gold is a wonderful surprise in addition to kicking off a great weekend where we previewed our new show ‘Mann & Wife’ and co-hosted the Stellar Awards with my husband David, and our friend Rickey Smiley. I’m feeling overwhelmed with thankfulness, and to God be the glory.”

‘Best Days’ includes the RIAA Certified Gold and No. 1 track “Take Me To The King,” the No. 1 track “I Can Only Imagine,” and the current chart-climbing, top ten hit “This Place.” The album won Special Event CD of the Year at the 30th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

New Music To Discover

With her continued recognition as chorus master with the Akron Symphony, singer songwriter Jennifer Mekel entered the music industry as a new recording artist with a debut album DESTINY LIVE. The success of the DESTINY LIVE was apparent in the flood of television requests from popular shows like, Atlanta LIVE and I’m Just Saying hosted by Pastor Dan Willis on the TCT Network.  Mekel was humbled by her successful outcomes that resulted in the debut single from DESTINY LIVE, It Won’t Work placing #46 on Billboard Gospel Charts.

However, she was not content on being dormant with her God-given gift or initial success. Mekel’s tenacity and musical instinct to weave and blend the distinct sounds and feels of Gospel, Jazz and Soul, resulted in a crafting of her own sound, the Mekel sound.  This paved the way to her new lead single GREAT GOD, which proclaims her love for God using her life experiences, molding them into her heart-felt expressions of just how great God is, regardless.

GREAT GOD immerges as a pure and intimate worship experience and features the acclaimed Boys and Girls Choir of Harlem Alumni Ensemble who are directed by Tyneshia Hill.  “The beauty of GREAT GOD is not only in the melodious voice of Mekel, but in the simplicity of the words as well,” exclaimed Hill.

The youthful yet powerful voices of the Boys and Girls Choir of Harlem Alumni Ensemble in the background of GREAT GOD continues to weave a pure refreshing sound which enhances this intimate worship listening experience.  Mekel is humbled to collaborate on the upcoming album with acclaimed talents such as multi Dove and Stellar Award nominated Earnest Pugh, Swoope, Khyrie Tyler, and H. Doobie Powell. Mekel says, “This album will be an amazing compilation of songs that minister to the soul, radiating messages of hope, strength and love.”

The release of the lead single, GREAT GOD comes during the time of year, Believers remember the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
