GOP Presidential Candidate Ben Carson Campaigns In Ohio

Rupert Murdoch on Thursday tweeted a half-hearted apology in an apparent attempt to save face after swift social media backlash over comments he made about President Barack Obama not being a “real Black president.”

The White conservative media mogul who owns the Fox News Channel was trying to rally support around Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson, the sole Black presidential candidate, by attacking Obama.

Carson faces heavy criticism over comments he made about victims’ response to the Oregon mass killer, saying he “would not just stand there and let him shoot me.”

Murdoch, 84, even tried to divert attention away from Carson’s comments by referencing an article in New York Magazine, “Has Barack Obama Done Enough for African-Americans?,” but failed to link to the article.

Murdoch’s shenanigans fell flat with Twitter users:

CNN Money notes that Murdoch is a recent Carson enthusiast:

Way back in March, after Carson left the network, but before he announced his presidential bid, Murdoch tweeted about Carson: “Wonderful character, up from Detroit ghetto, sadly seems political naif.”

As the months have progressed, Murdoch has turned more positive.

Back in August he celebrated Carson’s rise in the polls, and said “his life story should make every American optimistic.”

When will conservatives learn that this type of racially divisive propaganda no longer works?
