#MyVoteMyVision Mayoral Forum at TSU

John Rudley, president of Texas Southern University, announced at Saturday’s commencement ceremony that he will be resigning after 8 1/2 years. He’s done a lot for the university in his tenure, aggressively expanding programs and raising standards. He proudly leaves TSU in better shape than it was when he took over in 2008 after the horrible scandal of its former president Priscilla Slade. She was accused of mishandling the school’s finances and faced criminal charges. Rudley described his tenure at TSU as “taking an institution on life support and putting it in a position where it is now, where it’s competitive.”
