Congratulations to Houston’s own JJ Watt and Jose Altuve for becoming Sports Illustrated Person Of The Year.

The two Sports stars helped out the city of Houston in so many ways in the aftermath of Hurrican Harvey.

For Texans Defensive End JJ Watt, what started out as a $200,000 goal to raise funds for Harvey relief became a Global rally cry which resulted in raising $37 Million. “Nothing J.J. Watt has achieved in his career, or might still achieve, will measure up to what he did for Houston,” MMQB Editor-in-Chief Peter King said.

For Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros, they provided the city of Houston relief with a World Series Championship.  By defying the odds beating three of baseball’s storied franchises – Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers, Jose Altuve racked up MVP Honors and an incredible post season.

For a city that faced a lot of diversity, JJ Watt and Jose Altuve’ embodies the theme of 2017 – Houston Strong!  For that reason it’s no surprise for them to be SI Sports Person of the year.
