The love and support former Cosby Show actor Geoffrey Owens has received since he was ridiculed for having a normal job at Trader Joe’s has been overwhelming. So much so that Tyler Perry has made the actor a pretty serious offer.
Perry took to Twitter Tuesday morning and personally offered Owens a role on one of his hit dramas on OWN.
“#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shooting OWN’s number one drama next week! Come join us!!! I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist,” he tweeted.

The offer came moments after Owens appeared on Good Morning America, saying he was proud to have a normal job. “No one should feel sorry for me,” Owens told Robin Roberts. “I’ve had a great life. I’ve had a great career. I’ve had a career that most actors would die for. So no one has to feel sorry for me. I’m doing fine!”
Due to the attention he received after it was discovered he worked at Trader Joe’s, Owens left his job. Watch the full interview below.
