VIA KHOU.com:

A landlord was killed Wednesday night after a conflict with his tenant, Houston police said.

Officers were called to the scene in the 5700 block of Allison Road around 9:50 p.m.

When they arrived, they were met by the tenant, who said he’d shot 67-year-old Marlin Joe Brown.

The tenant told police that Brown had confronted him earlier in the night about an alleged sexual relationship between the tenant and Brown’s girlfriend.

The tenant said Brown started assaulting him, so he pushed Brown out of his home.

When Brown told the tenant he was going to get a gun, the tenant grabbed his own weapon and ran outside to hide under a trailer.

The tenant told police Brown came back and started shooting, so he returned fire and fatally struck Brown.
