Mos Def loves taking New Orleans rap songs and making them political. First he did “Katrina Clap,” from “Magnolia Clap’ by Juvenile, now he does “It Ain’t My Fault” which is also the name of a Mystikal song, but is also an old New Orleans standard, which he made into a song dealing with the BP Oil Spill and Katrina.
