Essence Flyaway Fridays – Contest Rules

ESSENCE FLYAWAY FRIDAYS

Official Rules:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.  MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND A LEGAL TEXAS RESIDENT TO ENTER.

Contest Description:

The Essence Flyaway Fridays promotion will begin on Monday, May 31, 2010 and end on Friday, June 25, 2010 (“Contest Period”).  Majic 102.1 listeners will log on to www.myhoustonmajic.com, click on the Essence Flyaway Fridays logo and register for their chance to win one of four (4) trips for two (2) to the 2010 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. Winners for the Essence Flyaway Fridays will be randomly drawn on June 4, 2010, June 11, 2010, June 18, 2010 and June 25, 2010. The Essence Flyaway Fridays package consists of round trip coach airfare for two (2) from Houston to New Orleans, six (6) tickets to the Essence Music Festival (two tickets for each night), and hotel accommodations in New Orleans for 3 nights (ARV: $2,500).

To Participate in the Essence Flyaway Fridays” promotion, listeners must do the following:

1. Log on to http://www.myhoustonmajic.com, click on the Essence Flyaway Fridays logo and submit online to enter their name into the drawing.

ELIGIBILITY:

1. This sweepstakes is open only to residents of the United States who are 21 years of age or older at time of entry. Proper identification and proof of age (i.e. driver’s licenses, passport or other photo I.D. with birth date) must be presented before any prize will be released to winner.
2. Employees of KMJQ-FM/Radio One of Texas, L.P., its subsidiaries, general partner(s), affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors, promotional partners, or any other affiliated radio stations in the Houston, TX area owned by Radio One, Inc. and members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.  All federal, state and local laws apply.
3. Only one (1) person per household may win during the “Contest Period”.
4. Eligible listeners who have won another contest or promotion of any kind from Majic 102.1 KMJQ-FM within a thirty-day (30) period before the “Essence Flyaway Fridays” promotion may not participate.

EXECUTION:

1. Contestants will be encouraged to log on to www.myhoustonmajic.com, click on the Essence Flyaway Fridays logo and submit online to enter their name into the drawing.
2. Grand Prize Winners will be randomly drawn from all online entries submitted within the Contest Period.
3. Grand Prize Winnera will receive the following: round trip airfare for two (2) people from Houston to New Orleans, six (6) tickets to the Essence Music Festival (two tickets for each night), and hotel accommodations in New Orleans for 3 nights (ARV: $2,200).

LEGAL CONDITIONS:

1. All persons, by participating in this promotion, agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions made by KMJQ-FM Majic 102.1 station management staff, which shall be final and binding.  Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in the disqualification of an entrant.
2. No purchase is necessary.  This contest is void where prohibited.
3. Anyone who has won a prize in excess of $999.00 is not eligible to win this or any prize within twelve (12) months of winning.
4. Prize recipient will be responsible for paying all federal, state and local taxes based upon the retail value of the prize.
5. By participating in this contest, winner agrees to allow Majic 102.1 KMJQ-FM to use their name, voice, or likeness in any advertising, or broadcasting material related to this contest, or station promotion, and must sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.
6. So long as no participant is adversely affected in any material way, KMJQ-FM/Radio One of Texas II, LLC reserves the right to make any changes in the contest rules, which will become affective once announced on the air.
7. Any person winning over $600.00 in prizes will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year for tax purposes and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS as required by law.
8. Majic 102.1 KMJQ-FM and Radio One of Texas II, LLC., its subsidiaries, its affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Houston, TX area will not assume any responsibility for any changes in the execution of the contest, including; cancellation of the contest as a result of the occurrence of events not within the control of KMJQ-FM or Radio One of Texas II, LLC., such as Acts of God, Strikes and Terrorists Acts. In the event, such an act should occur, KMJQ-FM and Radio One of Texas, L.P. will make reasonable attempts to offer the winner comparable prize(s) currently being offered by the station, in lieu of the prize originally awarded.
9. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
10. The winner will be notified by phone and email and will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability release within three (3) days of notification or prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to another winner at sponsor’s sole discretion.  If winner cannot be located or does not respond within three (3) days, prize will automatically be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
11. Trip winner’s guest must sign and return a liability/publicity release form prior to travel. No trip will be purchased for a winner who declines the prize.
12. Prize is not redeemable for cash and is not transferable.
13. Failure of a contestant to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant disqualification.
14. Radio One of Texas II, LLC and KMJQ-FM/Majic 102.1, their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of any prize.
15. Radio One of Texas II, LLC and KMJQ-FM/Majic 102.1, their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for any changes or difficulties in prize delivery.
16.
