The Fourth of July weekend is almost here, and patriotism is on everyone’s mind — especially for Texans.
But that’s not how Men’s Health magazine sees it.
They’ve put out a list of the 100 most patriotic cities in America. Topping that list is Portland, Oregon, followed by Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Seattle and Tampa.
The closest Texas came to the top of the list was 21st with Austin. Dallas came in 60th, Arlington 87th, Houston 89th, Fort Worth 90th, Corpus Christi 97th and El Paso 99th.
The last on the list was Jersey City, New Jersey.
Men’s Health ranked the cities based on percentage of voters who voted for in the 2004 and 2008 elections, money spent on military veterans per capita, percentage of residents who volunteer and the amount of flags and fireworks sold.
