Legendary performers Rickey Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ron DeVoe; members of the iconic R&B trio, Bell Biv DeVoe will present the Houston Independent School District with $20,000 to benefit the districts Harvey Relief Fund.

After witnessing the tragic destruction of Hurricane Harvey, the group used their gift to spread love by partnering with Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Senator Linda Dorcena Forry in a free “Unity Concert” for the city of Boston, which would benefit Harvey survivors in Houston. The group worked tirelessly with City Hall to put on the free “Unity Concert” where concertgoers donated new school supplies for the Houston Independent School District. Knowing that the need would be much greater than just school supplies, the group decided to donate $20,000 to the HISD Harvey Relief Fund that directly benefit the students, parents, faculty and staff affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Thursday, October 12th BBD will visit Attucks Middle School at 1pm for a check presentation and Meet and Greet with students and faculty. The program will be lead by Attucks Middle School Principal Renita Perry and a warm Bell Biv DeVoe welcome by Boston native and Majic 102.1’s mid-day on-air personality, Kandi Eastman.

“We are so excited that key artist of our music format have joined in our effort to Rebuild Houston, one family at a time. It is so important that we make sure our teachers and students have the proper educational resources to produce success”, says Vice President and General Manager of Radio One Houston, Pam McKay.
