The 2019 BET Awards will air next Sunday (June 23rd) and it has been announced that Tyler Perry will receive the Ultimate Icon Award. According to Baller Alert via a press release, Perry’s brand is said to have “authentically spoken to and impacted black culture and helped shape the future of black entertainment.”
