This week, Tupac Shakur would have been 40 years old.
It’s astonishing that so much time has passed since his death at age 24. It’s also astonishing that his legacy is still strong so many years later – perhaps because the conditions in the nation’s ghettos and the “thug life” he tattooed on his chest and proudly espoused as a life manifesto have changed little since his untimely death.
