Several men formed the original Trail Ride in 1952 as a way to increase awareness of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Sixty-three years later, it continues to be the event that kicks everything off.
Rodeo CEO Skip Wagner says the Trail Rides are a celebration of Western heritage with 13 different groups participating this year.
