The second day of the government shutdown brings a lot of pain, and pleasure, to some.  According to Pulse of Radio,

The partial federal government shutdown entered its second day today (October 2nd), after yesterday was taken up by blame trading and a new Republican strategy of voting on separate bills to re-open individual agencies. Speaking in the White House Rose Garden,President Obama accused Republicans of causing the shutdown as part of a, quote, “ideological crusade to deny health insurance to millions of Americans.” On the GOP side, House Speaker John Boehner wrote on op-ed article posted on the USA Today website in which he wrote, “The fact is that Washington Democrats have slammed the door on reopening the government by refusing to engage in bipartisan talks.” Late Tuesday, House Republicans tried to quickly pass legislation re-opening the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Park Service and a part of Washington, D.C., government funded with local tax revenue. But Democrats opposed all three, saying Republicans shouldn’t be allowed to pick and choose which federal agencies re-open and which stay shut. The White House also said Obama would veto any such legislation.

We hope that this doesn’t go on for too long.
