(RICHMOND, TX) — The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is working to do its part to help parents protect their kids from harm online.

FBCSO is hosting the Texas Center for the Missing’s Internet Safety Education Program, which is designed to teach parents and educators how to keep their children from abduction and Internet lures.

The program will be held 6-8 p.m. July 10 at the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy, 1521 Eugene Heimann Circle in Richmond.

From abduction prevention techniques to what to do if a child is abducted, this program includes:

  • Parent education on how to keep children safe on the street and on the Internet;
  • CyberBullying Prevention and reporting tools;
  • CyberTipline Information; and
  • Distribution of Street Smarts and Safety: Keeping Our Kids Safe/Find My Child brochures and Parent Internet Safety Tips.

FBCSO officials said this program has adult content and is not appropriate for children. All attendees should be 18 or older.
