The one thing Bill Cosby’s attorneys did not want to happen has happened.

Evidence has come to light of Cosby admitting he used drugs to seduce women; or at least one woman.

The Associated Press had to go to court to have the documents released from a 2005 and 2006 deposition.

As my CNN colleague Deborah Feyerick reported, in that ten-year old, more than 200 page deposition, Bill Cosby admits under oath that he obtained 7 prescriptions for Quaaludes.

“The deposition makes very clear that he wanted the Quaaludes in order to give them to women he wanted to have sex with. Quote, you have them to other people?  The answer, yes. Question, when you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?”

The answer, yes.””

The woman initially did not want money from Cosby but ended up settling for an undisclosed amount of money.

She initially wanted an apology and to know the types of drugs he used on her.

Accusers Barbara Bowman and Joan Tarshis spoke with me on CNN last night, saying this news is a weight off their shoulders.

Don – “Is this vindication to you now?

Bowman – “Oh it’s huge.  I’ve worked so long and hard to tell my story and screamed my story onto deaf ears.  So after ten long years it really was quite amazing to read my email today and it was like everything turned a 180 in under a minute.”

Lemon – “Joan how are you?”

Tarshis – “I’m feeling really great Don. I never really thought this day would happen.

Lemon – “Why not?”

Tarshis – “Because first of all I kept it a secret because I was afraid to talk about it because sort of Mr. Cosby’s power.  Then when it came out, lots of other women started to come out, we were called liars.  And now that the truth has come out that he has bought drugs for women to have sex with him, I’m just so relieved that the truth has come out.”

I spoke with several attorneys who represent Cosby accusers.

They believe that this is a game changer and could force Bill Cosby to be deposed in some of the new lawsuits against him.

If that happens Cosby could face not just civil issues, but criminal ones as well.

Through his attorneys, Cosby has denied the allegations.

His attorneys also tried to keep the depositions sealed saying he was a public figure and it would be embarrassing to do so.

The judge who unsealed the documents ruled that because Cosby “has donned the mantle of public moralist and mounted the proverbial electronic or print soap box to volunteer his views on, among other things, child rearing, family life, education, and crime. To the extent that defendant has freely entered the public square and ‘thrust himself into the vortex of th[ese] Public issue[s],’ he has voluntarily narrowed the zone of privacy that he is entitled to claim.”

In other words, holding himself up as the moral authority on certain issues, could ultimately lead to his undoing, at least on the issues of drugs and sexual assault.
